Social Responsibility
Responsibility, Crafted with Care
At Janie and Jack, we believe that true quality extends beyond design and craftsmanship. It is reflected in how our collections are made, the people who create them, and the standards we uphold.
Responsible sourcing is not an initiative; it is a principle embedded within our business. We work exclusively with partners who share our commitment to integrity, dignity and respect for human rights.
Human Rights & Modern Slavery
We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, forced labour and human trafficking.
Our practices align with the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and internationally recognised labour standards. We undertake due diligence across our supply chain and require our partners to ensure that all work is freely chosen, fairly compensated and lawfully contracted.
Fair & Lawful Employment
We expect our suppliers to provide safe, fair and respectful workplaces.
This includes compliance with:
- The National Minimum Wage Act 1998
- The Working Time Regulations 1998
- The Equality Act 2010
Employment must be based on ability and merit. Discrimination, harassment and coercion have no place in our supply chain.
We prohibit child labour and require adherence to applicable laws governing minimum age and compulsory education.
Health, Safety & Wellbeing
We require all partners to provide safe and healthy working environments, in accordance with applicable legislation including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 where relevant.
Worker wellbeing, safety training and appropriate protections are fundamental expectations.
Environmental Stewardship
We recognise that responsible craftsmanship must also respect the natural world.
Suppliers are required to comply with environmental legislation, including the Environment Act 2021 where applicable. We encourage thoughtful resource use, waste reduction and continuous environmental improvement across our supply chain.
Ethical Governance
Integrity underpins every partnership. We require compliance with anti-bribery and corruption laws, including the Bribery Act 2010, and expect transparent, accountable business conduct at all times.
Ongoing Oversight
Our Supplier Code of Conduct forms part of our contractual framework. We monitor compliance through structured assessment and reserve the right to require corrective action where standards are not met.
At Janie and Jack, responsibility is woven into every detail, from the first sketch to the finished garment, ensuring that what we create reflects not only beauty, but integrity.
